Much like the last poster my hair has started shedding more than usual. Is there anything I can use to stop it from happening? I have been reading about Viviscal and it seems like it might help but it is quite expensive: viviscal.evershop.co.uk. Are there any cheaper alternatives?

First off I'm a stylist and there may be many reasons your hair is falling out. Here are the typical questions I would ask ANYONE in my chair.
1) what products do you currently use?
2) do you flat iron, if yes do you use a heat protector?
3) do you color yourself and what brand of color and how often? Also do you pull it through the ends every time when you first put it on?
Clearly I'm not a fan of store bought products or color. I have had to many people sit down in my chair with horrible at home jobs and expect me to fix it cheap, no it's $75 an hour. The color we use in my salon contains conditioners, they are less damaging then store bought. The easiest way to say it is when you sit down in our chair we can look at your hair see what colors are there and what we need to mix to ge your where you want to be. A box knows none of that.
You need GOOD products. When you invest in the products your investing in your hair, when you buy say a litre of shampoo and conditioner it's going to last you a good 6 months at least. Right now (just an example) at my salon they are 2 for $30, that's $15 each and take that over 6 months it's $2.50 a month per bottle. About the cost of suave.
Viviscal is great for helping hair grow. There is no miracle that is going to make you have long flowing beautiful locks of hair. I take both a multi vitamin and the viviscal (the hair, skin and nails one makes me vomit).

I don't color my hair and i use folicure shampoo and leave in treatment i do switch shampoos alot, i have sort of straight here but when i wash it it becomes curly and now when i brush it it sounds like it's crackling and tearing,. i am going to buy the biotin and multi vitamin or the hair, skin and nail one. i want to color my hair but it is falling out so bad. i just want it to be strong and grow back on the sides and on top and that when i brush it there is not so much hair on my brush.

From a professional stand point I would want you to not color your hair until we got the hair loss under control. There are many reasons besides for stress that this can happen...hereditary alopecia, hypo thyroidism, anemia, hormonal changes, birth of a baby, and this can make your hair act really weird for up to two years (trust me I know, mine fell out for almost one with my first, and two with my second). Also, have you used Henna on your hair ever? Because if you have at any point used henna (unless your hair is pixie short) and you then used an OTC product, the two chemical interact and actually heat the hair up to boiling. They actually made us watch this under a microscope in cosmetology school. The other important question is if the hair is falling out from the root (points to some sort of imbalance in your system), or if it is just breaking (points to over processing). If the latter is the case, you may need to just lay off the color for awhile, and adjust your peroxide volume for your texture. Often times what they sell over the counter is way stronger than what one actually needs to acheive the results they want. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Ok you said your hair was sort of straight but gets curly when you wash it? I guess I don't understand that, in my opinion your hair is curly or not unless you flat iron it. You NEVER want to brush curls unless you want a nasty frizz ball, that can also lead to breakage. Actually you never want to brush wet hair period, you need to use a wide tooth comb.

i don't color or have colored my hair and i have not used henna, the hair falls of the roots and also break i have always i see made the mistake of using my brush never a comb and i tide it up into a ponytail with a headband. when i wash my hair it is curly i guess since i always comb it back and leave it like that all day and night. i have been using this ponytail hairstyle for over 30 years. only once did i cut my hair very short. i guess because it is always tied up it gets straight i don't use flat irons, curling irons. blow dryers nothing like that. i am going to buy the biotin and use nioxin shampoo and conditioner if that helps and i am also going to take one a day vitamins or the hair, skin and nails vitamins. i just basically shampoo and hair grease B&B and brush tie it up.

You have to take care of your hair's health before coloring it. Try Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan oil. Argan oil is naturally full of vitamins and anti-oxidants to make hair stronger, healthier and less likely to fall out. I recommend argan oil to all of my customers who have dry hair either from chemical treatments or coloring. It's a good idea to use it while your hair is color dyed too since this oil preserves color and avoids your hair from drying out and weakening from chemicals. Trust me, this stuff works. I use it on myself too.

Most men often favor undergoing hair transplant surgery to end their hair loss problems. In fact, the number of men who want to opt for this type of hair restoration procedure is gradually growing year after year. see this http://www.lazer-comb.com/

Hair loss sucks. A quick way to hide it is by using topical concealers. Nanogen Fibers are one of the most popular hair loss concealers.

I think, you have to try herbal remedies. This is cheap ,and didn't have any side effect.

Hair loss does suck, I've read a lot lately that hair loss all comes down to nutrition and how much vitamins and minerals we have in our bodies, how much of that is true I don't know.

Hello,

According to my opinion you need to consult a qualified and experienced surgeon who would be able to make correct diagnosis and prescribe the necessary course of treatment. I have recently consulted and been treated for a similar problem by Dr. Cole which worked quite well, with my problem substantially improving and my hair loss being under control. I would advise you to first have a qualified specialist examine the cause and then recommend a line of treatment.

It might be for a time period only only. Hair fall changes with different time periods. It would be really high for some particular climates, to avoid that you have to give proper care for your hair. You can do some oil treatments, and spa for your hair to strengthen your hair.
